A big hello to all you readers out there! This website is a way for you to view all of my work in a single location, and to hopefully impress any potential employers! I am currently a Journalism student at the University of Lincoln, but my main ambition is to become a motoring journalist. Along the way I’ve been guided by the works of Jeremy Clarkson, Bill Thomas, and A.A. Gill. So watch this space for regularly updated blogs, photos, and anything else I care to publish.

“A First Year in Journalism” – A wordpress based blog, where you can find some of my more serious writings. Subjects cover a wide range of journalistic issues, such as ethical dilemmas, and the future of reporting.

“Tales of Uni” – A blogger.com based blog, set up by myself and three other first year journalism students. This blog chronicles our various misadventures and troubles in our first year at university. Subjects range from how to avoid loosing all your money in the first few weeks away from home, to the best ways to burn a salad.

“A Long Drive Home” – This is another blogger.com based blog. The blogs viewed on this site have largely appeared on Top Gear Team, one of the largest Top Gear fan sites in the UK. Here you will find all my car reviews. Sensible facts and figures dealt with my own venomous wit. A must for any petrol heads!

I have been a student journalist for a little over two months now, and i have to say, i am enjoying it completely. I wake up each day excited at what the day might bring, i learn so much i am pretty sure i could form an informed opinion on almost everything. And yet, its not quite what i expected...

As colleagues on my course will know, we have been set a task on the subject of ethics. It sounds relatively simple, we are asked to either disagree or agree with a proposed statement, and of course this being university we must give a balanced argument. The hard part is that we are rather cruely limited to only 300 words. I could quite easily talk for three times that on the subject of ethics and morality in general, but i can see why the lecturers have limited us so much, so that we get straight to the point...
